Training Your Chatbot: What It Means & How To Do It

Feb 2, 2024

“Chatbot training” is a phrase you’ve probably heard but may not understand. Simply put, training a chatbot means giving it all of the information it needs to be able to correctly and effectively answer questions. While this might sound technical or complicated, it doesn’t have to be. In this guide, we’ll give you some guidance on how to train your chatbot so it can probably answer customers’ questions, capture leads, and engage with your students.

Recommended Resources for Your Chatbot

The first step of chatbot training is sharing as much of your knowledge as possible by uploading resources. This ensures your Creator.io chatbot will have a wealth of knowledge to support your visitors and customers. Plus, the more information you share with your bot, the better it can answer questions and provide the valuable information your customers need.

We recommend uploading any and all of the following:

  • YouTube videos

  • YouTube channels

  • PDF and TXT documents

  • Kajabi courses (you can link your account directly to Creator.io!)

  • Q&A documents

Assembling a Q&A Document

By providing a document with frequently asked questions and the corresponding answers, your chatbot will be able to effectively handle visitor and customer inquiries. Feel free to use whatever document writing tool you prefer (ie. Microsoft or Google Docs). You’ll need to write out the question, enter the answer to the question on the next line and then create a distinguishable space before continuing with the next question. Your document should look something like this:

Question 1: What is Creator.io?
Answer 1: An innovative AI platform that enables you to build custom chatbots

Question 2: What type of webpages can I upload to Creator.io?
Answer 2: Creator.io accepts any URL that points to a publicly accessible webpage.

Once you’ve shared key resources (especially the Q&A doc) your chatbot will have all the information it needs to answer questions correctly and efficiently.
